The Railway network in India is the life line for millions of commuters across the country. It plays a very important role in the Indian Economy. Afcons is proud to be a contributor in the growth and development of this sector, through its project execution capabilities. We have laid tracks for over 3000 kilometers challenging various geographies across the country.

The difference we have made is reflected in the various milestones achieved by us. We built India’s longest rail bridge of 4.62 kms (Connecting the island Vallarpadam with Idappali in Nort Kochi) in National Record Time of 27 months. Also, we are building the World’s largest arch type railway bridge for J&K rail link project (Chenab).
The new age rail network is finding the rise of the METRO. AFCONS’ first metro project began with tunneling work for Kolkata in the late eighties. Today we are positioned as one of the leaders in executing rail and metro projects across India.

Our portfolio comprises of 5 elevated and 2 underground metro projects, totaling approximately 25 kms of metro corridor and 10 metro stations. Our success in this sector is the result of high-end technology and machinery deployed by us in all our projects.

Major achievements in this sector include the construction of India’s first underwater tunnel ( Kolkata) and the fact that we are the First Indian construction company to an build underground metro station without any foreign joint venture ( Barakhamba Road, New Delhi).
