Twinning in Sync

Afcons achieved simultaneous breakthroughs of the east-bound and west-bound tunnels between Apparel Park and Kalupur Station for Ahmedabad Metro project on February 25, 2019. The simultaneous breakthrough of twin tunnels was achieved just about 40 seconds apart from each other, which is a rare feat in the industry.

The entire tunnelling, between Apparel Park and Kalupur Station, was completed in 11 months flat, while navigating multiple dilapidated and precarious structures in old Ahmedabad above.
