Knowledge Management

Afcons is known for its wizardry in engineering. For us no project is too tough to undertake. A cursory glance at our portfolio of projects will testify to the fact that, at Afcons, Extreme Engineering & Construction is a way of life. And, we strive to execute such challenging projects on or ahead of schedule, within budget, and, with highest customer satisfaction.

This defining characteristic of Afcons is supported largely by our globally-recognised Knowledge Management practices.

Launched in 2012, the Knowledge Management initiative was the outcome of the realisation that completed projects could better reflect the wealth of knowledge and expertise that had gone into its creation.

This is where the Knowledge Services Group (KSG) plays a crucial role. Every project that Afcons executes, generates a bounty of new knowledge. The idea of forming a dedicated group is two-fold: Firstly, to acknowledge the power of knowledge; Secondly, to capture this learning and put it back into circulation.

What distinguishes the KM programme at Afcons is the equal emphasis on capture as well as dissemination of knowledge. Its robust structure complemented by regular campaigns create excitement and anticipation. It brings knowledge management alive in the organisation, and, goes a long way to ensure Afconians not only contribute but also benefit by sharing.

It is for these reasons that Afcons has been announced as a winner of the Global, Asia, and India MIKE (Most Innovative Knowledge Enterprise) Award for five consecutive years from 2018 - 2022.

Global MIKE Awards - Afcons Project

The MIKE Award is the evolution of the MAKE (Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise) Award. There were 8 countries or zones taking part in the first year of Global MIKE study. They are Australia and New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Iran, Japan and Mena (Lebanon).

Previously, the company has also been recognised by Teleos UK and the Know Network as a ‘Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise’ consecutively in 2016 and 2017 at the India, Asia and the Global levels.

Apart from this roaring success, Afcons was awarded the global KRO Award by KM Society of Singapore in 2018. The Knowledge Ready Organization framework identifies the readiness to leverage on knowledge in order to succeed in the volatile and uncertain environment.

Knowledge Management has been diligently cultivated and is now a key strategic pillar for the company in its quest for ‘Level Next’. This is evident in its stated vision to transform itself into a ‘Knowledge Enterprise’.
